THE penultimate games in the Garvey's SuperValu Senior County Championships take place as part of a double header in Austin Stack Park, Tralee on Sunday.
All four teams have worked hard all year and the games on Sunday will fulfil their ambitions to reach the County Senior Football Championship that takes place on Sunday, October 28 in Austin Stack Park, Tralee. Dingle v St. Kiernans, 2pm Dr. Crokes v Laune Rangers, 3.30pm.
The admission prices are €15 for adults and €10 or student and OAPs. All children under 16 are free. The John Mitchels GAA club is producing the match programme for Sunday's games. County JFC Final THIS Saturday Kenmare and Na Gaeil meet in the Castleisland Mart Junior Club championship final. The winner will receive the Con Brosnan Cup and will have the honour of representing Kerry in the All Ireland Junior Club Championship in 2012/2013. A man of the match trophy will be presented by Castleisland Mart on the day. The game is on in Fitzgerald Stadium at 4pm. Admission to the games is €10 and €5 for students. All children under 16 are free. Under 21 Club Final THE Acorn Life U21 club competition had grown from strength to strength since it was first started in 2008.
The sponsors Acorn Life have added a new dimension to the promotion of the competition and we thank them for all their efforts. On Sunday the Tom Naughton Cup will be presented to the winning caption from finalists Killarney Legion or Austin Stacks. Draw THE draw for the Senior Football Inter County Championship 2013 took place last Thursday night live from Croke Park. In the first round Kerry under the new management of Eamonn Fitzmaurice will play Tipperary and the winners will meet Waterford in the semi final. Quarter-finals: Kerry v Tipperary; Cork v Limerick Semi-finals: Waterford v Kerry or Tipperary; Clare v Cork or Limerick Awareness THE Kerry Mental Health Association and Kerry County GAA have teamed up for a countywide mental health awareness campaign. The campaign will have a two pronged approach: involving the deployment of mental health awareness signs and a series of talks throughout the county.
The signs, which highlight the importance of one's mental health, will be placed permanently in areas of high visibility at all GAA facilities throughout Kerry. The talks will have two dimensions. The first dimension will deal with such topics as positive mental health, building resilience and coping. The second dimension will deal with how one might identify someone at risk of self harm or suicide and how best to deal with the situation. The talks will be organised through the GAA.
The campaign will be launched officially on Wednesday October 10, World Mental Health Day, at Fitzgerald Stadium Killarney at 11.30am County Committee A MEETING of Coiste Chiarrai will take place on Monday October 15 at 8pm in Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney.
