ULSTER won the Under 15 Interprovincial Championships at City of Derry last week taking the title from Leinster with Munster in third spot and Connaught propping up the table.
Munster included two you Kerry players, Ballybunion's John Molyneux and Killarney's John Kerrisk and both boys can feel proud of their contribution.
In the opening match on Thursday morning Munster took on Ulster in the most unusual format of one foursomes match and four singles. Both Kerry boys were used in the singles with Molyneux losing on the final green while Kerrisk managed a half, as the Northern Province won by three and a half matches to one and a half as Leinster beat Connaught 3-2 in the other match.
Thursday afternoon saw Munster play Leinster and this time the Kerry boys were paired together in the foursomes but lost on the sixteenth as Munster beat leinster 3-2 overall while Ulster beat Connaught three and a half to one and a half.
On Friday it was Munster's turn to play Connaught and Both Kerrisk and Molyneux won their respective singles matches by 5/4 and one hole as Connaught were beaten 3-2.
Leinster beat Ulster by the same margin but Ulster were awarded the title as they had collected more points over all, nine points to eight.
Congratulations again to John Molyneux and John Kerrisk who have done us proud and I'm looking forward to writing several more column inches in the years ahead about these two.
