THIS weekend sees the Minor Championship begin, with St Annes facing Blackrock on Sunday at 12 noon.
St Annes is the combined team of Causeway and Cillard clubs and while the powerhouse of Newcastlewest are in the mix, a good performance none the less will be expected of the girls. The team again will look to players like Patrice Diggin, Aoife Fitzgerald, Orla Young and Aine O'Connor to provide the platform for scores. Jessica Fitzell is a huge loss having suffered cruciate ligament damage earlier in the year. We wish her a speedy recovery and back to the playing fields in 2013.
Also this weekend the county under-15 team travels to Portlaoise on Saturday to participate in phase 2 of this structure.
Twelve other teams will also contest. Kerry can look to the likes of Alanna Maunsell and Niamh Leen to boost this teams performance along with stong showings from Norann Gilbert, Nessa McGarty Aoife Behan and Rachel Burke should make for an interesting day out.
Along with some of the younger members of the team like Aoife O'Connor, Nessa McGarty and Rachel Breen who showed very well for the Under 14 team recently. Training tomorrow (Thursday) at 7pm in the Astro Turf in Causeway. Club News CAUSEWAY club will host a Development Plan meeting this Friday at 8pm in the school Assembly Hall.
