LADIES FOOTBALL: Scartaglen Junior Ladies were in real hard luck on Saturday last when they lost by a single point 1-11 to 1-10 to Boherbue in the Munster Junior A Semi Final played at Ballydesmond on Saturday last. This was a great game of football played before a large crowd with the Scartaglen Ladies giving of their all to a physically stronger County Cork side. At half time it was Boherbue 0-7 Scartaglen 0-6. In the second half a great goal from Scarts Mary Herlihy put her team right back in the reckoning and it was real nip and tuck until the final whistle. It was heartbreaking to lose by a point but we can all be proud of our Scartaglen Ladies on a brave and spirited performance. Scartaglen Ladies Football Club would like to thank all those who travelled to support their team on Saturday last, which was very much appreciated by players and management alike. A big thank you also to Hugh O Connor and his assistant Joanne Brosnan for their time, effort and commitment over a long period during the year.
