THE last two men who captained the Crokes captained them to county championship glory... so Kieran, no pressure.
In fairness this is a man for the big stage and the big day. In 2008 Kieran O'Leary was the man of the match in the All Ireland Under 21 Final and as Crokes captain he'll be under no more or less pressure than any other Dr Crokes player will be on Sunday.
"It's been an enjoyable experience this year," he says.
"Both Luke [Quinn] and Brian [Looney] were winning captains in the two previous years and I have a learned a lot from both of them. It's not been a major thing for me in the fact that I have not done anything different to any other years. We leave the management do the talking in the dressing room and that suits me just fine, because I wouldn't be a man to take over the dressing room. I just like to get on with my own preparations. Some players will chip in with something valid to say at times and that's good too.
"It is a huge honour to captain Dr Crokes. Not many people can say that they have captained a County Championship winning team so Sunday will be a massive day for me personally.
"I couldn't let Brian and Luke get one over me either! It won't be easy because Dingle have been scoring goals for fun. I think they've scored 11 goals in three games so we'll just have to come up with a plan to counteract them. You'd never know we might play 13 men behind the ball on Sunday!"
