ALL of Kerry's golfing eyes will be on Tralee's Tommy O'driscoll who tees it up on Monday next at Muskerry in the Munster Youths Championship.
Following his recent exploits with the Irish U-16 development squad where he picked up four and a half points from six in the quadrangular matches against Scotland, Wales and Holland, the fifteen year-old appears to have a very bright future ahead of him in the game and is surely one to keep an eye on over the season. Sadly he is the only Kerry entrant in the field at Muskerry.
Ballybunion's Gary Mulvihill was the last Kerry winner of the event when he lifted the trophy at his home course eighteen years ago in 1994. Other previous winners from Kerry include Waterville's David Higgins (1992 & 1993), Killarney's Eoghan O'connell who won in 1985 (but he will be claimed by Cork because he's from Ballydesmond) and Killarney's Paul Murphy (1984).
