CONGRATULATIONS to the Kerry Minor footballers who had a good win in Austin Stack Park on Tuesday night last when they defeated Limerick.
It was great to see so may Kerry supporters out on such a wintery night and it was good for the players to have that moral support at home. They now travel to Clare to play Clare on Wednesday, May 16.
The winner goes into the Munster Final against the winner of Cork versus Tipperary. Minor Hurlers GOOD luck to the Kerry minor hurlers who will play Tipperary in the Munster championship first round at Semple Stadium tonight [Wednesday, May 2] at 7pm Castleisland Mart Senior Club Championships IN the club championship Final on Saturday night next we have a mouth watering contest in store when last years club champions Rathmore will face Dr. Crokes 2013; last year's county championship winners. This will be a titanic battle between two determined, skilled and focused clubs. The game is on at 6.45pm in Fitzgerald Stadium in Killarney and the curtain raiser is the Junior Club Championship Semi final: Glenbeigh/glencar V Kenmare at 5pm.
All children are free to all club championship games. Entry to both games is €10.00 and extremely good value for money. The Intermediate club semi-final game Dromid v Spa takes place in Killorglin at 6.30pm also on Saturday at 5pm and entry to this and other single Club Championship games at the weekend is €5. Children are free.
All venues for semi finals are neutral and all clubs are asked to send their panel to County PRO Maureen O'shea to facilitate a program not later than the Wednesday night before the games. Minor League CONGRATULATIONS to St Senans and Cordal / Scartaglin on winning the Keanes Supervalu Minor Football Leagues Division 6 & 7 last Friday night.
St Senans overcame Glenbeigh / Glencar in the Division 6 Final in Strand Road. Eamon Whelan, Kerry Coaching and Games officer thanked Kerins O'rahillys for the venue when he presented his fellow St Senan's clubman Luke Lynch with the winning trophy. Murt Murphy presented the Keanes Supervalu Killorglin Man of the Match to Paudie Quille ( St Senan's) for his outstanding display and 0-11.
Scart / Cordal 4-9 defeated Waterville / Dromid 3-9 in the second final. This was a very close game up to the final whistle. Diarmuid Ó Sé Kerry Scór officer presented the winning trophy to the dual captains William O'connor and Gerry Mannix and the Man of the Match Award, all sponsored by Keane's Supervalu, to Johnny O'connor. Diarmuid thanked Cromane for hosting the game and George O'donnell for refereeing it so well, and especially two talented teams for such an entertaining game
