Keanes Supervalu Minor Hurling Championship
Semi-finals THIS year The Keanes SuperValu, Killorglin Minor Hurling Championship final will see Kilmoyley and Lixnaw battle it out.
The semi-finals were played on Sunday evening in Austin Stacks Park, Tralee.
Lixnaw and Abbeydorney was the first of the two semi finals, the final score was Lixnaw 6-18 Abbeydorney/ Crotta 1-7.
The second game ended in a victory for Kilmoyley when they defeated Causeway on a final score line of Kilmoyley 2-15 Causeway 2-7.
Lixnaw hurling club will be represented by both their minors and seniors in both this years county finals, a great achievement for any club.
Keanes SuperValu Killorglin sponsored Man of the Match awards for both games. Joe Walsh, Kerry Hurling Officer presented Ricky Heffernan of Lixnaw with the man of the match award for his outstanding display against Abbeydorney/ Crotta .Ricky contributed a huge score of 3 goals and 8 points for his side.
Daniel Collins was the Man of the Match for Kilmoyley, he too was presented with his award by Joe Walsh. Daniel was also the leading scorer for Kilmoyley scoring 12 points for his side. It was great to see both Kerry Minor stars perform so well for their clubs just one week after their All-Ireland victory the previous weekend. Well done to both Daniel and Ricky.
The county minor hurling final promises to be a great one. Date and venue to be confirmed.
Credit Union Senior County Hurling League
Kilmoyley seniors defeated Ballyheigue on Friday evening last to book their place in this years Senior County League final against Ballyduff. The final score was Kilmoyley 1-16 Ballyheigue 1-12.
Ballyheigue Golf Classic
Ballyheigue GAA club are holding a Golf Classic on September 22nd in Ballyheigue Golf Club. A team of four will cost €100, contact any club officer for more information.
Under-21 Hurling Championship Rd 1
(extra-time if required, first named team at home) Saturday, September 22 Causeway v St Brendans at 4pm Sunday September 23 Kilmoyley v Ballyheigue at 12 noon
All Ireland Hurling Final
The GAA is happy to confirm the following ticket reductions for the 2012 GAA Hurling final replay between Galway and Kilkenny at Croke Park on September 30; Stand €50 (down from €80) and Terrace €25 (down from €40). The GAA will also make available juveniletickets costing €10 in the usual designated areas within the stadium and expect to sell in excess of 5,000 of these tickets.
