JOHN Mitchels fly the club banner for the rest of the competition and while they have looked very good so far in trying to replicate Kilcummin's achievement of two years ago, this is arguably one of the toughest tests they face in the form of a Kenmare side backboned by the rise of Templenoe at the moment.
Gavin and Brian Crowley along with Adrian Spillane lead the way but Kenmare can also call on the likes of the Harrington's (Tom and Gary) from Tuosist as well as Kenmare town's Colm O'Sullivan in what appears to be a well balanced team.
The John Mitchels forward line will be an acid test however not just with Niall Sheehy and Sean Moloney leading the way but also with players such as Shane O'Connor, Dara O'Neill and Jake Moran to cause difficulties around the pitch.
Kenmare went the scenic route after losing to St Brendans accounting for Dr Crokes and Mid Kerry in making it this far. John Mitchels also triumphed over Mid Kerry in their first match before getting the better of East Kerry in the quarter-finals.
This is a very hard one to call in advance, much will depend on if the Kenmare defence can keep tabs on Maloney and Sheehy but it might just be that the extra game by virtue of going through the Losers Round could well get Kenmare over the line in what promises to be a cracking contest next week.
