FINUGE GAA AGM: There was a good attendance at the AGM which took place in the clubroom last Sunday evening.
Joint Secretaries Bridget Liston and Ann Maria O'Sullivan circulated a very comprehensive report which detailed the club's participation in Senior, Junior and Minor competitions during 2012.
Particular satisfaction was expressed at the success of the Senior team that won the County and Munster Intermediate Championship and now look forward to playing in the All Ireland semi-final on Sunday January 27th. The detailed financial report of Treasurer Pat Lyons highlighted the high cost of running the club and the various methods of generating sufficient income in the present difficult economic climate.
Reports detailing the activities of Coste na nÓg, Finuge/ St. Senans Ladies Football club and Finuge Freewheelers Cycling Club were adopted. Cathaoirleach Denis McElligott, in his address referred to the progress that the club has made culminating in this year's success which ensures that Finuge will now participate as a senior club in County competitions. He thanked the players and team management and all associated with that success. He had a special word of thanks for his fellow officers and for all the volunteers who give unstintingly of their time, particularly those who look after the field and those who actively fundraise to provide the necessary finance for the many demands on the club.
He was especially grateful to those who had ensured the success of the Ring Of North Kerry Cycle, the recent Video Race night and he acknowledged the importance of Stacks Londis, Lixnaw as a major sponsor of the club. In looking to the future it would be important to introduce further funding initiatives so that high standards can be maintained for the development of up and coming players in the club.

MINOR FINAL: Finuge/Duagh will contest the Division 1 North Kerry Championship final next Sunday at 2.00 p.m in Tarbert. The opposition will be Knock/Brosna. The support of club members for the stars of the future would be very much appreciated by players and mentors. SENIORS: Preparations continue for Sunday week's vital All Ireland semi-final. Training has been intensified and challenge games against Tralee IT and Kerry under 21s have been played.
