THE captain of the Kerry side Peter Mccarthy says that he is optimistic regarding their chances of defeating Dublin.
"We know it is a big task but the players are geared up for the showdown and I believe they can deliver. The side showed great character in the semi-final grabbing a late equaliser to take it to extra time.
"There has been a great buzz in the traning ground during the week and the lads can't wait for the game to arrive. I am honoured to t be the captain of the team and I thank Timmy Lynch for showing faith in me to do the job," the Killarney man says.
"We have a wealth of experience in the side with the likes of Maurice O'rahilly, James Sugrue and David Conway very inspirational players. The work rate of the team in the competition has been great so far and we aim to get right at the Dublin side from the very outset.
"At present our cup is only half full and we hope to bring the real cup home in the bus on Sunday evening. This is like our World Cup final and it is time to deliver."
Mccarthy has been in terrific goalscoring form this season and has scored in every round of the Oscar Traynor Cup accumulating 6 goals in the process. His tally for the season so far in all competitions is 35 goals which is a phenomenal achievement. He would love to bag a few more next Sunday and we will have to wait and see what transpires.
