ATLANTIC SAILING CLUB: Note a slight change to the notes for the sailing club, Adult only session now takes place on Tuesday nights at 6.30 p.m.
The Club will also be hosting a come and try session on Saturday 3rd August at 11.00 a.m. at Mannix Point.
The Atlantic Sailing Club are up and running for the 2013 season. New members and visitors are always welcome. The Club caters for people from ten years of age upwards. The club is based at Mannix Point Camping site and has a fleet of Topaz Uno and Omega dinghies available for use by members. The Club meets on Thursday at 6.30 p.m. and Saturday 10.30 am and there is an adult only session on Tuesday at 6.30.p.m. Typical sessions would last two to three hours depending on weather and conditions. You are welcome to come and try your hand at sailing; taster sessions are available for €20.00 per person. You will need a wet suit and buoyancy aid and bootees or old runners. Membership is available for €100.00 per annum for Students, €200.00 for Adults and €300.00 for families. Membership includes the use of the club boats. The season runs until the end of October. The camp site will be extremely busy for the festival so there will be little or no parking available, it is advisable to walk down from the main road. CAHERSIVEEN HORSE AND PONY RACES
will take place on Sunday 8th of September at Reenrusheen to coincide with the Daniel O'Connell week end. The land over which the races are run was left to the people of South Kerry by the great man himself.

It's that time of year again when the Super Value Tidy Towns Competition begins. The Tidy Towns Judges will visit Cahersiveen at an unknown date during the month of June. This year we, the Tidy Towns Committee feel that we have worked hard to improve and maintain our town for all of us who live here and to present a tidy, clean and interesting place for tourists to visit and for our family members to return home to. You can help us by taking responsibility for maintaining your own property, including any street or pavement areas, freshen up paintwork maintaining your property free liter and weeds you will be greatly assisting us in making our town much more pleasant for visitors and if we manage to score some extra points in the Tidy Towns Results that would be our just rewards.
Cahersiveen Tidy Towns will be holding a Gala Night. Dates and times will be confirmed. Tidy Towns Committee is on going rewarding people for their great participation in the Tidy Towns competition. Awards will be presented on the night of the Gala Banquet.
CAHERSIVEEN BASKETBALL CLUB SUMMER CAMP
will run on the 12th Aug - 16th Aug in Colaiste Na Sceilig the camp will run from 10am to 1pm for 8 to 12 years and from 2pm to 5pm for 13 to 18 years the cost is €60 for 1st child, 2nd child is €40, 3rd child is €30 and any child after that is free, we will have competitions during the camp where prizes will be given out. The camp will be run by Mark Scannell who is this years Superleague Coach of the Year and he also runs the Rip n Run Basketball Camp in Dublin which is running very successfully for the last 10 years (look it up on ripnrun.com and see for youself) . is a Registered Charity based in Tralee and is involved with rehoming and caring for unwanted lost or abondoned animals particularly cats and dogs. RESULTS: David Kenny won the walk U15 at All Ireland track and field in Tullamore Sunday 21st, his time was 10 mins 29 secs. Robert Campbell threw the 3.25 kg hammer over 35 metres at the same championships, which earned him a bronze medal. Well done to both. Arthur Fitzgerald won the 10k in Killarney and Caitrin Barry was third in the half marathon Saturday 20th July. A big number of athletes took part in both races.
