THE property market may be in crisis but that hasn't affected numbers at Kerry's annual Ideal Homes and Motors Show, which took place at The Brandon Hotel over the Easter weekend.
Organisers of the event say the show attracted bumper crowds and there were few obvious signs of the downturn.
Over 100 exhibitors took part in the three-day show, which attracted large crowds each day.
It wasn't just the home section of the exhibition that was a success. According to organisers the motors exhibition also went extremely well with visitors to the show putting down deposits on 17 cars over the course of the weekend.
Show organiser Alan Collins said the exhibition had gone very well.
"It was a great success and we were very happy with it. All three days were busy and we were lucky with the weather. It was an excellent weekend," he said.
Mr Collins said that interest in the event was probably boosted by the number of homeowners who are opting to do up their houses rather than trade up and move.
"People aren't trading up anymore they're spending their money on doing up their houses and so that means there's a lot of interest in exhibitions like ours," he said.
"The exhibitors were delighted with it. and being honest about it a lot of them said they were glad to have the opportunity to drum up some extra business," said Alan Collins.
