IN the B championship semi-finals North Kerry defeated East Kerry by three points.
It was a game of two halves as North Kerry dominated the first half – Debbie Murphy opened the scoring with a point point for East Kerry after three minutes of play. Goals by Carina Daly and Noreen Guiney sent North Kerry in front. County star Louise Galvin put the northeners well in front with two expertly executed goals. Rosie Young and Carina Daly added two more points as North Kerry went in 4-6 to 0-4 in front at the break.
It was East Kerry's turn in the second half as they scored two goals in as many minutes. As the easterners dominated the kick outs Debbie Murphy struck for goal number three, however, North Kerry struck back with a point each from Carina Daly and Noreen Guiney As the clock ticked down North Kerry closed ranks put a lot of players behiend the ball and held on for the win by three points. Debbie Murphy was top scorer in the game.
North Kerry now go on to meet Na hAisaigh in the final. They defeated Listowel in the second semi-final by 4-8 to 2-7. Congratulations CONGRATULATIONS to Dromid ladies who defeated Castlegregory ladies in the Vincent Murphy Cup final on Sunday . This was Dromid's first ever win in ladies GAA. The club was formed just a couple of years ago and the won by just one point in a very exciting final played on Sunday. Final score Dromid 1-12 Castlegregory 1-11. Also well done to the Kenmare Under 13 B team which defeated Kilcummin in the Officeandink.ie Under 13 B championship final. Under 12 Development THE second phase of the Under 12 trials took place in Fossa on Saturday and again it was a huge success.
So far 134 players have taken part in the trials, which is very encourageing for the future of ladies football in Kerry. Plans are currently being put in place for our Under 13 and 15 development squads. It is hoped to get the programme up and running in the first week in October immediately after the All Ireland final. We are looking for two more coaches to complete the coaching team.
All applicants must have a proven track record in coaching and willing to be available each Saturday for six weeks please contact coaching officer Pat Hartnett for further details. Countdown THE countdown to the All Ireland final is on in earnest with our neighbours Cork now through following their win over Monaghan. The ticket situtation is as follows: adult tickets are €25, students and OAPs are €10, Under 14s€8 and family tickets are €25 each plus €5 each per child. Tickets are for the Lower Hogan Stand and when these tickets are sold the the Lower Cusack will be opened It is important to order early as tickets will be sold on a first come first served basis. Tickets can be purchased from the County Board.

To enter player must be female, Under 10 years of age and be registered with the Ladies County Board. All entrants are asked to draw or paint a picture of their favourite player and post it to Melissa O'Callaghan at 2 The Meadows, Castleisland asap and the winner will be announced on September 20.
