ST. BRENDAN'S HURLING CLUB: U-8's were due to play Crotta last week but the pitch in Dromakee was waterlogged and the game cancelled.
They will now compete in Abbeydorney this Friday 7th and Friday 14th from 6-7pm in an U-8 blitz and we hope all the young hurlers enjoy their evenings hurling. CO. U-12 Phase 3 competition will take place on Sept. 16th, 23rd and 31st. NK U14: St. Brendan's are due to play Lixnaw (away) this Thursday Sept. 5th at 6.30pm. NK U-16: St. Brendan's are due to play this Sat. Sept. 8th, but changes were made to original fixtures and players must contact mentors for details.
NK INTER LG: Monday Sept. 10th has been fixed for the NK semifinal v Lixnaw. ALL-IRELAND HURLING FINAL: Kilkenny will play Galway this Sunday Sept. 9th and at half time primary school hurling and camogie players from all over Ireland will take to the pitch at Croke Park and compete in the Kilkenny and Galway colours. Nessa McGarty (Brandonwell) a camogie player from Ardfert NS will represent Kerry and we wish her well on her big day.
ALL-IRELAND MINOR B FINAL Kerry v Roscommon will be played this Sat. Sept. 8th at the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick at 2pm and we send our best wishes with the team and management and especially to the St. Brendan's hurlers on the panel and to Captain Kevin Hannafin.
KERRY DEVELOPMENT HURLING SQUADS were in action last weekend and U-14's, U-15's and U-16 squads all enjoyed various levels of success, with the U-14 squad winning the Tony Forrestal B competition. Fionan Mackessy, Aaron Thompson, Eoghain Kearney, Eric Leen and Micheal O Sullivan all played their part and our own U14 mentor David Leen was also a mentor with the winning team. Congratulations to all the Kerry teams.

LOTTO: The St. Brendan's Hurling Club / Ardfert G.A.A. lotto Jackpot this week was €5,100. The numbers drawn were 14, 16, 24, 26. There was no winner. The draw took place in the Abbey Tavern. The lucky dip winners were: €75 Sharon Sinnott Lewis, Liscahane, €40 Tommy Fitzgerald, Rusheen, Ballylongford, €25 Mike Corridon, Ballinprior. Next Tuesday 's Jackpot will be €5,200 and the draw will be held in Kirby's at 10.15p.m. Tickets at just €2 each are available in local shops throughout the week and in the pubs on Saturday nights. FOOTBALL CLUB: JUVENILES - The u12s played Dingle last monday in Ardfert. They did very well and won on a score line of Ardfert 1.12 Dingle .03. The u14s played Austin Stacks in Div 1 of the Coiste Tra Li competition. This game was played on wednesday night last in Connolly Park. Ardfert had a great first half and led by five points at half time. Austin Stacks however had a great second half and proved too strong for our lads. Final score Austin Stacks 5.09 Ardfert 3.08. Ardfert now play Kerins O'Rahillys tonight wednesday, sept 5th, in Strand Road. This game kicks off at 6.30pm. Ardfert play Na Gael in Ardfert on the 12th of September. Best wishes go to Aidan Healy, Brandonwell, who plays for our u16 team. He received a serious injury recently and has to undergo surgery for a cruciate injury. Hopefully Aidan will make a full recovery and will be back in action in 2013.
