FOOTBALL - JUVENILES: Our u12s defeated Ballyheigue last week in the Co. Football League. Final score 4.12 to 2.06.
They played Finuge last sunday and were defeated by 1.09 to Finuges 2.08. The u14s played Na Gael last thursday. The weather was very bad and Ardfert were behind by .03 to 1.05 at half time. Ardfert however played a great second half to finish winners on a score of 3.13 to Na Gael's 2.06. Our u16s travelled to Listowel where they defeated the locals in Div 4 of the Co. Football League. This was their first game in this competiton which they won by 6.08 to .05. Well done to all. They face Glenflesk in Ardfert tonight wednesday at 7.30pm. Best of luck to Jesse Stafford Lacey who has been called for trials for Ireland u15 soccer.
JUNIORS: This team had a great victory over Ballylongford. Final score Ardfert 2.11 Ballylongford .10. They are now in the final of Div 3 of the County Junior Football League. Well done to all involved.
SENIORS: The County Football League resumes next saturday night. We travel to Killorglin to play Laune Rangers. This game has an 8pm throw in. St. Brendans had no luck in the senior championship. They bowed out to St Michaels/Foilmore. Final score St. Brendans 1.17 Michaels/Foilmore 3.12. DEFIBILATOR: Thanks to everyone who supported the scrap metal collection. A defibilator has now been purchased for the sportsfield. We have decided to collect for another defibilator which will be located centrally in the village for the community. We are collecting old and unwanted mobile phones. Boxes are in the local pubs and shops. The scrap metal collection is ongoing. FEILE NA nGAEL: Preparations continue for the upcoming St. Brendan's U-14 hurlers trip to Feile na nGael to Dublin on 5th -7th July. The lads have been putting in a lot of training and are enjoying the build up. As part of their fundraising they packed bags in Dunnes Stores, they helped with the cake sale and coffee morning, and recently they all played a large part with the clothes recycling, which will continue for another while. They are at present selling lines for €2 each with prizes on offer for the winners. Their first game at Feile is v St. Judes, Templeogue at 3pm on Thursday 5th. The parade will also take place later that evening, and all the Clubs will parade with their Club banner from Croke Park down to O'Connell Street, Dublin which will be a sight to behold. The 2nd game is on Friday 6th at 10am v St.Oliver Plunketts, Dublin, with the 3rd group game v Kevin Lynch's, Derry at 1.30pm. St. Brendan's will be hosted by St. Jude's Templeogue, and we will be playing in Div. 3 Group B. We are very grateful for all the good wishes and the financial support being offered towards the event.
ST. BRENDAN'S HURLING CLUB: The Garvey's Supervalu Senior County Hurling Championship was launched in the Garvey's Store in Listowel last week where Club Chairman and team Captains attended and the Championship Round 1 draw was made live on Radio Kerry on Saturday. Round 1 Weekend 29th July: Ballyheigue v Ballyduff, St Brendans v Causeway, Kilmoyley v Crotta O Neills, Abbeydorney v Lixnaw Div. 1 Co. League v Lixnaw was due to be played last Tuesday evening, and we are away to Ballyheigue this Friday evening 29th at 8pm. Result: Co. League Div. 1 The game v Causeway gave St. Brendan's a 1-8 to 1-6 win last week in Causeway.
CO. LEAGUE DIV. 2 replay v Causeway is due to be played on Wed. July 4th in Ardfert at 8pm.
NK U-21 CHAMPIONSHIP (Paddy Kelly perpetual cup) We are due to play Abbeydorney in Ardfert on Tuesday July 3rd at 7.30pm.
MINOR CO. LEAGUE begins this week and St. Brendan's were due to play Kilmoyley last Monday, with games at home v Lixnaw next Monday 2nd at 8pm, and away to Causeway on Monday July 9th. U-12 Phase 2 Co. League next game is away to Kilmoyley this Friday 29th. St. Brendan's Rd. 4 game v Kilgarvan is due to be played on Sunday July 1st in Ardfert at 12 o clock.
U-10 NK BLITZ 1 which was cancelled from last Sat. 23rd June in Abbeydorney is due to go ahead this Sat. U-15 NK "B" Championship (Edmund Flahive Memorial Shield) is due to begin this Thursday 28th with further rounds on July 12th at home to Abbeydorney and 19th July away to Kilmoyley. U-6 & U-8's were due to play games v Kilmoyley last Tuesday evening.
U-16 CO. LEAGUE (Div. 2) semi-final Kenmare/Kilgarvan was played last Friday 22nd in Ardfert. Despite a sluggish start by St. Brendan's and trailing by 7 points at one stage in the second half, they managed to claw their way back point by point and crept ahead in the last two minutes of the game to finish 1-13 to 1-11. It was a tough struggle to win the game and all the team had to make a massive effort. Noel Clifford, Aidan Duggan & Martin Woulfe were on the sideline to guide them over the line. The final v Lixnaw will be played in July. CO.
U-16 CHAMPIONSHIP begins this week with pre lim rounds and St. Brendan's have a quarter-final tie with Ballyheigue on July 17th at 7 o'clock.

RECYCLING FOR FEILE: Due to demand we will continue to collect clothes, bags, shoes, bedding etc. for recycling, so bags can be dropped off at the sportsfield meeting room any morning Mon-Fri, or during any evenings training.
