TRALEE jockey Philip Enright scored a thrilling half length win at Limerick races on Friday last, the third day of the four-day hugely successful Christmas meeting, on the well supported 20/1 to 8/1 chance, bottom weight Valley of Thrushes, for Galway trainer Val O'Brien and Oranmore owner John Joe Brady.
Toomdeeley tried to make all the running, and still looked likely to succeed before the last. However, Enright, riding his 24th winner of the season, refused to accept defeat, and under a powerful drive from the saddle from the last, prevailed narrowly from the long time leader.
Enright continued his winning run at the meeting on Saturday where he produced a splendid riding performance on Oscar's Business, for Robert Tyner in the mares beginners chase, winning by a hugely impressive 21 lengths margin for his 25th win of the season.
