Tralee Dynamos extend unbeaten run to ten games

DENNY DIVISION 1A Castlemaine United 2 Tralee Dynamos 3 TRALEE Dynamos extended their 100% record to 10 games on Sunday with a win over Castlemaine. However they had to fight hard to get the three points with the game scoreless at half time. Castemaine went ahead with a Terry O'Sullivan goal on the hour mark and it looked as if a surprise was on the cards.

However, true to ther nature Dynamos fought back strongly with goals from Aaron Houlihan and Danny Roche. Kevin McKenna equalised for Castlemaine but Dynamos had the last say with Ivan Maher scoring what proved to be the winner. Killarney Athletic 1 Ballyhar Dynamos 1

The local derby was a tight affair and Ballyhar went ahead with a John Daly goal but Athletic equalised in the 80th minute. Best for Ballyhar were Colm O'Shea, Pat Browne, John Daly, Anthony McKenna and Kevin Casey. Castleisland 5 Shannon Wanderers 1

Castleisland keep themselves on track as they were too good for Shannon Wanderers winning the game in a canter with Pat Keane 2, Pa O'Rourke and John Feehan getting the goals. Their best players on the day were Pierse Brosnan and John Feehan.

DENNY DIVISION 1B LB Rovers 5 CS Brandon 1

After a bit of a break LB got back to their league programme on Sunday and it was a winning one seeing off the challenge of CS Brandon comfortably. Ger Gorman netted two for the winners and Eoin O'Mahony, Barry Shanahan and Shane Joy completed the scoring for the North Kerry side. Man of the match for the winners was Billy Joy. Killorglin FC 1 Ballyheigue 5

Ballyheigue moved out of the relegation zone with a great win over Killorglin with their goals coming from Jason Griffin (2), Mark Dineen, Timmy O'Connor and Kieran Costello. Newtown Athletic 1 CSKA 2

CSKA are moving into a challenging position in this division but they had to work hard for their win in Moyvane on Sunday. The first half was scoreless and CSKA steamed ahead with a brace of goals from Mike Griffin. Newtown hit back with an Alan Cunningham goal but despite their best efforts they were unable to manufacture an equaliser. Newtown will have to stop the rot quickly if they are to stay in this division

DENNY DIVISION 2B Annascaul FC 2 Na Fianna 0

Na Fianna's merry march at the top of the table was halted on Sunday when they went down 2-0 to Annascaul. The West kerry side went ahead when Shane Foley scored in a goalmouth scramble. The same player was the provider for the second goal and Eamon Hickson duly obliged with a great finish. Noel Flahive and Eamon Lenihan was superb at the heart of the Annascaul defence.

This win for the West Kerry side moves them to just a point behind table toppers Na Fianna and what a great battle is now on for the 2 places in the final with any of 5 sides in with a chance.

At present Na Fianna lead on 28 points while Cedar Galaxy, Annascaul and Tralee Athletic are level on 27 points while Valley Wanderers are just another point behind on 26 points. Na Fianna, Cedar Galaxy and Annascual are in the best position as they have a couple of games in hand over the other contenders.
