It was played before a big crowd as the centre piece of The Parks open day at Christy Leahy Park. If anyone thought that it would be easy for the As their clubmates on the B team had different ideas. In the end all that separated the sides was a Ryan Dolan goal, set up by Colin Griffin, which gave the As the League and Cup double, but it could have been so different if Fergal Ryan's goal wasn't harshly ruled out. Ryan's disappointment was tempered a little when he was named Man of the Match.

Shane McLoughlin was a member of the double winning team, but didn't play as he recovers from injury. Everyone involved in the game wished him the best of luck as he heads over the Ipswich Town on a two year scholarship starting in July.
