The co-managers of the Killarney Athletic side JP Mullins and Robin O'Day said they were delighted with the win which came after a long season. O'Day said that most of the team played with the youth side this season and this win has opened a door for them.
"It was our aim to get the best out of the boys and they done the business in this final. Ballyheigue made us work hard for our win but we used our possession to good effect," said O'Day.
His partner JP Mullins said he was happy the lads' performed well as a unit and said it was a squad performance.
"The man of the match for us was Shane Lyne who was superb throughout the game. We have to build on this win and get the squad to continue and do well at youth level which will stand to our senior team in the years to come," said Mullins.
