Mercy Mounthawk win first Munster futsal title for school

SCHOOLS FUTSAL AFTER winning the Kerry competition Mercy Mounthawk represented Kerry in the Munster A futsal finals in Nenagh.

The format of the competition was a league basis and rewarded the best and most consisted team. Mounthawk started strong with a 3-0 win over Clare and followed it up with a 2-0 win over the Tipperary champions. In the next game Mounthawk drew with Cork in a tight game 1-1 which was fiercely contested. Mounthawk scored a late equaliser one which was to prove invaluable.

The penultimate game Mounthawk put in a great team performance to beat Limerick 2-0 . A win or a draw in the final game would put them through to the all-Ireland series.

In the final game Mounthawk played Waterford who scored early. The game went over and back with Mounthawk searching for the equaliser and seconds from the end they scored the vital goal to take the Munster crown.

Mounthawk created history as it was their first futsal Munster tittle and now look forward to the All-Ireland campaign where they will represent Munster.
