KILLARNEY primary schools have dominated the large and small categories of the FAI Primary Schools 5-a-side soccer county finals, and in so doing have qualified for the Munster finals that take place in two weeks.
In the Small Schools Section finals, which took place in Tralee over the last couple of weeks, Fossa NS Killarney won the Girls final, while the Boys final was won by Tiernaboul NS Killarney.
In the Large Schools Section, the girls title went to St Olivers Killarney, while The Mon Killarney claimed the Boys Section final.
The event saw primary schools from all over the county taking part in the boys and girls competition, with 65 teams taking part across all formats of the competition, which meant that some 500 primary school pupils participated in the competition.
The winners of each section now progress to the Munster Finals and hopefully from there they will qualify for the All-Ireland Finals, which will take place at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
The event caters for boys and girls in fifth and sixth class primary. There is a section for each school in the county depending on the number of children on the school roll.
The Medium School Section Finals take place this Thursday, April 25.
The Munster Finals will take place on Wednesday, May 8 in Sean Choill All Weather pitch in Corbally in Limerick city, while the National Finals are scheduled for Saturday, May 25 in the Aviva Stadium, Dublin.
