Rattoo Rovers 1 Skelliga 1
IN a pulsating game at Ballyduff between two sides with Division 2A title aspirations the sides could not be separated and had to settle for a share of the spoils. The home side went ahead after just three minutes, but Skelliga progressed to get a foothold on the game before half-time.
The equaliser came when Stevie Boyle threaded the ball through to Jimmy Stapleton who despatched it past the out rushing Rattoo keeper.
Both sides had chances in the second half but a draw was a fair result.
Classic FC 0 Shanakill Athletic 2
SHANKILL won the local derby in impressive style in a game that Classic had to play with 10 men as they had no substitute to replace an injured player. Shanakill went ahead after just wo minutes when Brendan Coffey headed home for his first goal for the club. The same player was most unlucky 10 minutes later being denied by the post after a wonderful volley.
Shanakill went on to dominate the game and they put the issue beyond doubt when Tony O'Brien skipped past two Classic defenders and his shot was blocked out to Kevin Quirke and he applied a neat finish.
The man of the match for Shanakill was Tony O'Brien in his first game for the club he pulled all the strings at midfield to give an outstanding performance.

Great second half performance by Cedar with Johnny Murphy, Adam Waterworth, and Pat Fuller catching the eye while keeper Paul Murphy make vital stops when called upon.
