SINCE its inception, the Cashen Vale Boxing Club has produced many outstanding boxers who have done their county proud at national and international events.

Most recently Maurice Falvey and Paul Kepple have been making waves in national tournaments, and their inclusion in last Saturday's Senior International against Belgium in Limerick was totally vindicated. Paul Keppel was matched with Astorino Lucas in the 55kg weight and Maurice Falvey boxed Antoine Vanackerein the 60 kg weight.

Although competing with distinction in their respective bouts, both boxers lost by a split decision of 1-2 to their opponents. The event also marked an important moment in the clubs boxing history as it was the first time that senior boxers from the club competed in a boxing International.
