WHAT was that all about then? News began to filter out in the middle of last week that Ferrari were considering a protest against two Sebastian Vettel overtakes during the latter stages of the Brazilian Grand Prix. They sent a letter seeking clarification from the FIA when all they reallly had to do was to consult YouTube.
People took to Twitter pointing out what the FIA would later confirm for Ferrari's benefit – that Vettel had done absolutely nothing wrong. The suspicion was that he had overtaken under yellow flag conditions (a big no no). The video footage posted online suggested otherwise.
Even though they never actually protested – they sent a letter seeing clarificiation as we've noted – it isn't exactly the image they'd want for themselves. They looked like sore losers. Fernando Alonso certainly wasn't on the day he lost the title. The team should have taken his lead.
