LEINSTER and Lions hero, Jonathan Sexton, asked his godfather Billy Keane to visit his grandfather's grave in Listowel to ask him to pray for him ahead of his team's make or break clash with Australia on Saturday.
The Ireland number 10 - who is due to get married in Adare this Friday - sought divine intervention from his late grandfather John before the Lions roared to victory - a ritual not uncommon for the Leinster outhalf.
"He's a very spiritual kind of fella and his grandfather was very special to him, so he always insists that I call to his grave ahead of all the big games," Billy said. "He is a confident player, without being cocky, but he still wanted me to go to the grave and ask his grandfather to pray for him."
The prayers seemed to have worked!
