Over 60 participants competed on the day and the closeness of play can be gauged from the fact that all 3 finals had to go to the third set for decision.

Division 5: winners; Claire Stack (County, Tralee) and Brendan McGovern (Annascaul) defeated Aine Knightly (Annascaul) and Paul Hayes (Listowel) 22-20, 16-21, 21-8

Division 4: winners Mariuz Tusinski (County) and Berney de Brun (Dingle). defeated Mike Reardon (Sneem/Iveragh) and Lorraine Hopkins (County) 21-15, 12-21, 21-17

Division 2&3 combined: winners Dermot Keane (Moyvane) and Lisa Sayers (Annascaul) defeated Tom Clear (County) and Brid Murphy (Kingdom, Castleisland) 21-17; 13-21; 21-17.

This Thursday night will see the division 5 ladies and mens league finals, which are sponsored by Ashes Bar, Glenbeigh, being played in the Moyvane Community Centre commencing at 8pm. These competitions commenced in January and with six teams after competing in the mens section and 8 teams in the ladies with the final of the mens between Killarney and Listowel A and the ladies final confrontation lies between between Tralee's County Club and the winners of the Ballyheigue/ Kingdom, Castleisland battle.

The CPC.IE sponsored County Championships will conclude in the Killarney sports Centre on this Friday night with the division 2 and 4 mixed doubles championships. Last weeks division 3 championships saw Killarney's Maeve Twomey and Moyvane's James Flaherty complete the treble within that division.

Friday night sees a treble chaser in each of the divisions and both are from the Killarney Club. In division 2 treble chaser Sinead Galvin will probably team up with regular partner Paudie Horan and this pair have tasted success in the past and could take the gold again on Friday night.

Killarney's other treble chaser is Marion McSweeney at division 4 and this division is about the hardest to come through such is the quality and numbers of those competing.

It is known that Ms McSweeney will team up with club colleague Liam Barry and this a formidable pairing that also go the full way but in this division there are definitely going to be many twists and turns before the new champions will be crowned. All players are requested to check in at the desk by 7.45 pm

The Knock Out Cup finals, sponsored by Ashes Bar, Glenbeigh will take place at the Presentation Gym, Tralee, on this Wednesday, April 16, at 8pm
