KERRY'S coastal rowing teams have excelled at the All-Ireland Rowing Championships and the crews of Killorglin have led the way in the medals table.

The blue and white flags were flying high as Killorglin opened their account with an impressive win in the senior men's race and the ladies of Killorglin made sure that it was a double celebration as they came in ahead of the plucky Sneem Ladies.

Other Killorglin wins were notched up in the Under 16 Boys race, Pre Vet Men's, Under 16, Under 21 Ladies and Senior Mixed.

Indeed, it was an impressive Kerry showing all round and wins included a Cahersiveen gold in the Intermediate Men's race and Portmagee success in the Mixed Veteran category. Kerry's Under 18 Ladies are certainly in rude health and it was a one-two-three with Sneem, Fossa and Valentia coming home in that order.

Meanwhile, Portmagee took gold in the Under 12 Girls' race, Templenoe were winners in the Men's Masters and there were further wins for Sneem, Callinafercy, Portmagee and Dermot Walsh's Seine crew.
