Listowel Celtic host underage friendly game

INTERNATIONAL football returned to Listowel Celtic with an underage friendly game between Ireland and Estonia. This U16s game was announced back in July by the FAI Chief Executive John Delaney at Listowel Cetlic's 50th anniversary celebrations. Everyone involved with the Listowel Celtic club could not wait for the details to be finalised, and to be witness to such spectacular soccer skills at the Tannavalla grounds

It was a great honour for the club to host an international friendly, and this was evident by the huge crowd that arrived to watch the game. The soccer pitch was surrounded by fans waving their flags and supporting the underage side. FAI Chief Executive John Delaney returned to Listowel to watch the match along with Ireland's U16 coach Tom O'Connor.

The U16 Irish team had a triumphant win over the Estonian side who only flew into Ireland that day. Playing in a fluid 4-3-3 combination, Ireland won six goals to nil. The two teams also met again in Killarney to play a second match.
