Johnny is toughest club player of year
CONGRATULATIONS to Dr Crokes stalwart Johnny Buckley who was last week named 'The AIB Toughest Club Player' in Munster.
The inaugural year of the newly themed awards, Johnny was in Croke Park to pick up his trophy alongside 10 other club players from football, hurling and camogie.
The recipients were voted in by national and regional GAA media and the criteria focused on their overall performance in their relevant club games throughout 2013.
Johnny's influence in Crokes' journey to the All-Ireland semi final was immense and it was his last minute winner to secure the Munster Club Championship that eventually won over the judges.
Johnny joins Richie Feeney (Castlebar Mitchels), Mossy 'Tomás' Quinn (St Vincents) and Gareth McKinless (Ballinderry Shamrocks) in the provincial football nominations.
