KERRY boss Tom Howard will have to plan without star wing-forward Brendan O'Leary for this Saturday's crunch Christy Ring Cup clash with Derry in Austin Stack Park (throw-in 1pm).

The Abbeydorney man, who scored 1-2 in Newry at the weekend, is to miss the game, according to his manager, as he will be sitting a college exam on Saturday.

O'Leary won't be the only significant absentee for the Kingdom as new recruit Stephen Page looks set to miss the game as a result of club commitments – his club, Tommy Larkins, are playing in the Galway county championship on Saturday evening.

Gary O'Brien, meanwhile, is considered doubtful for the game having picked up a finger injury against Down. Tommy Barrett's participation is also touch and go as he struggles to overcome the injury which kept him out of last weekend's Christy Ring Cup opener.
