Sincere congratulations to former Tralee Lady Captain Lorraine Peevers on her selection as Manager of the Munster Girls team for the Girls Interprovincial matches which take place in August at Birr.
Lorraine who is currently serving as Junior Development Officer with the ILGU, has been a tireless worker over the years for Junior Golf and has been the main reason why Tralee have been so successful in the past number of years with girls teams.

The field is limited to the seventy five lowest handicappers at close of entries and the entry fee is €40. Interested parties should contact the office at Tralee on 066-7136379.
Uphill struggle for Ballybunion
Ballybunion's Senior golfers are facing an huge uphill struggle if they are to remain in contention for this year's Joe Carr Diamond trophy.
Having recently been crowned County Champions with a win over Killarney, the seasiders were drawn against Limerick champions Limerick Golf Club in the Munster quarter-finals but lost the first leg of the two-legged affair by four matches to one in Limerick.
The return leg in Ballybunion is down for decision this week but it means that the home side need to win all five matches to advance.
It is of course possible, but unlikely I fear.
Quirke wins Irish Seniors Amateur title

The next action for the seniors is the Connaught Seniors Championship which begins in Belmullet Golf Club in Mayo on Tuesday next.
