Legion girls are Derry bound after winning Feile football final

Congratulations to Legion U14 who were crowned Féile champions after defeating Austin Stacks on Sunday 28th in a thrilling final in Fossa Killarney. It was a superb game of football with Legion kicking over scores at crucial times, the difference between the teams. The final score was Legion 2-4 Austin Stacks 1-2.

Best of luck to Legion who represent Kerry in the Féile Peil na nOg in Derry in July.

Bank holiday Sunday May 5th sees finals & semi finals in the Rhyno Quality Feed Division 1, 2 & 3.

Division 1A Final

Inbhear Sceine Gaels take on Laune Rangers in the A Final at 3pm in a venue to be confirmed.

Inbhear Sceine Gaels finished top and defeated Laune Rangers comprehensively in the earlier rounds. However Laune Rangers are experienced at this level and with all their players back it will be a much closer affair. Laune Rangers experience should shade it in what will be a cracking game of football.

Division 1B semi-finals

Listowel Emmets take on Austin Stacks in Listowel at 12 noon. Austin Stacks have found the step up to Division 1 a tough challenge, but that will stand to their players later in the season with the experience gained. But expect Listowel to shade it.

In the other semi final Southern Gaels take on Castleisland Desmonds, venue TBC. Castleisland have also found life in Division 1 tough this season with players unavailable etc. However, expect to see a different Castleisland side on Sunday, a fast moving skillful to be expected with Southern Gaels experience to just shade it.

Division 2A Final

Scartaglin take on Abbeydorney in a Tralee venue TBC at 12 pm. Abbeydorney have made great strides this season with a new young team but Scartaglin will contain too much firepower and overall cohesivness for them.

Division 3A Final

This is a North Kerry derby as Finuge/St Senans take on Duagh. Finuge/St Senans defeated Duagh comprehensively in the earlier rounds but with Duagh finished the league strongly & will be looking to make amends for that defeat. But Finuge with Louise Galvin in the ranks & some good underage players will be looking to secure this title.

Division 3B Semi-finals

Dr Crokes v Milltown-Listry in Dr Crokes Lewis Rd, & Rathmore v Spa in Rathmore. Both East Kerry derby games & will be tough exciting games.

Action also continues in the Glebe Kitchens U12 County League Preliminary over the weekend.
