KERRY boss Tom Howard has strengthened his panel ahead of the Christy Ring Cup by signing up former Galway Under 21 hurler Stephen Page.
Page, from the Tommy Larkins club, is working in the Kingdom at the moment and therefore eligible to play for the Kerry hurlers. Despite being eligible for the Galway Under 21s again this season, the well regarded corner-forward has opted to play with Howard's men.
"We've got a new player down with us who has signed from Galway, who's supposed to be a young, very talented lad – Stephen Page," Howard revealed this week.
"He played Under 21 with Galway for the last two years, he's underage to play with Galway again this year, but because he's located here he can't get back to training"
Howard was, neverthless, keen to stress that he would remain loyal to the players who have performed so impressively during the National League campaign.
"He's another positive, but I don't want to take anything away from the players," he said.
"The players that brought us this far, we'll stay loyal to them and true to them and hopefully the guys that come in they'll just drive it on and improve the quality of what we have and give us more quality in depth.
"The fellas who have been with us all year have been tremendous all year and I just couldn't say enough about them."
