East Kerry Under 21
GLENFLESK qualified for the Division 1 semi-final when they hosted Legion last Sunday in the Under 21 Championship.
The home side played with a strong wind in the first half and kept much of the play in their end of the field. On form Jeff O' Donoghue notched up six points, from frees, for Glenflesk, to Legions 1 in the opening quarter.
Three unanswered points from the boots of Dara Roche, full back Darragh Kelliher and Lee O'Donoghue further increased the home sides lead. Legion had a period of dominance and Conor Keane capitalised with two points. Glenflesk replied with two Jeff O'Donoghue pointed frees. Half-time score Glenflesk 0-13 Legion 0-3.
Legion opened the scoring in the second half with a Conor Keane point from play. Glenflesk had two goal chances saved by Legion goalkeeper, Stephen Griffin. The ball was blasted back in, came off the upright and Dara Roche put the ball over the bar.
Brothers Conor and Sean Keane scored a point a piece, to narrow the margin to sevenpoints, six minutes into the second half. Play varied from end to end. In a move involving a number of players, Lee O'Donoghue finished the ball to the net. Dara Roche pointed putting Glenflesk 1-14 to 0-06 on the 39th minute.
The Legion goalkeeper denied Glenflesk another goal, when he came off the line to win the ball. Legion notched up three points (Sean Keane, Conor Keane, Aidan Slattery). Lee O'Donoghue, Glenflesk pointed.
Legion goal keeper again denied Glenflesk with a point blank save. The last kick of the game was a goal from the boot of Glenflesk's Dara Roche.
