Ladies Division 4B
Dingle/Daingean Ui Chuis defeated Causeway to win the Rhyno Quality Feeds Division 4 B title on Sunday morning in Caherslee.
An early morning pitch inspection was carried out after the terrible weather conditions and thankfully pitch was in very good condition. However a strong breeze dictated the style of play for both teams, which probably suited the West Kerry side as a short passing game was required, as opposed to the direct style of play preferred by Causeway. Scores were at a premium, with half time score Causeway 0-0 Dingle/Daingean Ui Chuis 0-5.
Dingle for second half were playing with the aid of the strong breeze and with the strong running and shooting ability of Aoife Geaney they made life very tough for the Causeway defence who struggled at times to clear their lines, though defending valiantly. In the end Dingle came through comfortably.
Elaine Ryall and Jackie Carroll played well for Causeway, while Dingle was spearheaded by Aoife Geaney and Deirdre Geaney.
Kate O'Sullivan captain of Dingle accepted the cup from Imelda Roche of Kerry Ladies.
Meanwhile, the penultimate game of the Kerry Ladies Football calendar is the Rhyno Quality Feeds Division 4A Final between Dromid Pearses and neighbours Southern Gaels B.
Dromid, who were Junior C champions, have had a good league campaign only losing one game all season. However Southern Gaels are an experienced outfit and will be looking to finish off their season with some silverware.
The game takes place on Sunday at 12pm, with the venue yet to be confirmed.
