FAI Junior Cup action for The Park and Killarney Celtic
TWO Kerry sides take the Kerry flag into the fourth round of the FAI Junior Cup next Sunday wth high expectations of progressing to the fifth round. St Brendan's Park, who are already in the Champions League Final against Pike Rovers, entertain Ennis Town Rock at Christy Leahy Park in Tralee.
The Clare side looked very impressive when they defeated Tralee Dynamos in the last round and their will be very formidable opponents for the Tralee side. I saw them play Tralee Dynamos and they are a big physical side that defend well and have excellent striker in David Reidy.
However, The Park are on a role at the moment and they will have no fears of their opponents and home advantage should be a boost for them. It looks like it could be a very close game and The Park will have to perform to their full potential if they are to overcome the Bannermen.
Meanwhile, Killarney Celtic travel to West Limerick to play Broadford United who are a strong Desmond League side that play in the Premier Division. However, Celtic are well used to playing big games and winning them and they should be in with a very good chance in this game. Sitting at the top of Premier A they are now performing very consistently every week and they are well capable of defeating the Limerick side if they are firing on all cylindars.
Meanwhile, Killarney Athletic are also in the fourth round of the competition but they will have to wait another week to know their opponents as they play the winners of Bridge United versus Avenue United both from Clare. This game was scheduled to be played last Sunday but fell victim of the inclement weather.
