Killarney Celtic 1 Tralee Dynamos 2
THIS was a game Dynamos were expected to win easly given the strength of their panel but they were put to the pin of their collar by a very spirited Killarney Celtic B side. Early on it looked like a shock was on the cards when Celtic went ahead courtesy of an OG. However, goals from David Brady and James Wall were good enough to secure the win for the Tralee side bringing their unbeaten run to two games.
Ballyhar Dynamos 2 QPR 2
BALLYHAR led twice in this game but were pegged back by QPR and a draw was a fair outcome at the end. Ballyhar went ahead after 20 minutes with an Owen O'Sullivan goal but QPR equalised. Then Ballyhar made it 2 – 1 after 70 minutes with a Joe Daly goal but QPR grabbed an equaliser. Best for Ballyhar were Denis Kerrisk, Ger Fitzgerald, Cathal Daly and Kevin Casey.
Castlemaine United 3 The Park 'B' 1
GOAL from Alfie Giles, Terry O'Sullivan and John Blennerhassett gave Castlemaine the three points with all the goals scored in the first half. Derek O'Connor was the scorer for The Park.
Castleisland 3 Killarney Athletic 2
CASTLEISLAND took the points with goals from Dean Poolman, Steven Mc Carthyand Connie O'Rourke. The Athletic scorers were Marcin Bzowy and Eamon Ahern.
DENNY DIV 1 'B'
Listowel Celtic 1 Newtown Athletic 1
NEIGHBOURS Listowel Celtic and Newtown Athletic had to settle for a share of the spoils in a closely contested game. Newtown went ahead in the first half with a John Scannel goal but Charlie O'Brien equalised on the hour mark for Celtic to set up an exciting finish to the game. Both sides had chances to win the game but parity remained with both sides happy enough with a point.
CSKA 0 Killorglin F C 2
CSKA are finding the going tough after being promoted and they now have lost their opening two games.
DENNY DIV 2 'A'
Skelliga FC 4 Shanakill Athletic 4
IF goals was what you wanted Caherciveen was the place to be on Sunday when Skelliga and Shanakill the two leading contenders for the league title in this division ended all square after a thrilling game that produced eight goals.
Skelliga went ahead on four occasions, but were plugged back on every occasion by a spirited Shanakill side. The home side raced ahead early on with a brace of goals from Sean Cournane. However, Shanakill hit back to draw level . John Clifford found the net for Skelliga and they led 3 – 2 at half-time. Shanakill equalised and Skelliga went ahead again with a Kieran O'Sullivan goal only for Shanakill to level again, Kevin Quirke was the hero for Shanakill scoring a hat trick while Emmy Quirke scored the other goal from the penalty spot.
Classic FC 3 Castlemaine United 3
CASTLEMAINE seemed to be home and dry in this game when they led 3-0 at half-time with goals from Kieran McKenna, Kyle Mulvihill and Paul Carroll.
However, Classic made a great fight back in the second with goals from Richie Kelliher, Damiam Reid and Michael Prendeville to leave the game ending in parity which was probably a fair outcome at the end.
DENNY DIV 2 'B'
Na Fianna 3 Clanmaurice F C 0
NA Fianna boss Stephen O'Connor has his side weaving a web of magic in Division 2 B and they notched up their first league victory of the new season with a comfortable win.
The Listowel side's goals came from brothers Kevin and Damian Murphy while the other goals was scored by Joe Mc Elligott. Na Fianna are adding a bit of colour and flair to the KDL with ther big band of loyal supporters and the professional manner in which they approach games and are winning he hearts of soccer fans all over te county. The club have a great work ethic both on and off the field of play and if they can keep this enthusiasm going they could be serious contenders for the league title which is their ultimate objective.
Valley Wanderers 1 Tralee Athletic 2
A CLOSE affair, but Tralee Athletic took all three points. Conor O'Callaghan was the Valley scorer.
