Letters: Things getting crazy with health insurance
Published 09/10/2013 | 05:36
Sir, I am in the process of moving back home from the States. Six years ago when I lived here I had insurance but I cancelled it when I had to go to the States. I now have Medicare, equivalent to a Medical Card, but that will not cover me when I move home.
I called three insurance companies today and all their fees were around €1,522. That was OK but the problem is I will have to be paying it for over two years before I am covered. Does it make any sense paying over €3,048 over two years and not be covered?
They blamed legislation. I just can't believe this. It's crazier things are getting.
