Letters: Ireland's bailout exit is a strategy conceived in cloud cuckoo land

Sir, I would like to make a number of points regarding Ireland's exit from the three-year bailout.

I think the Irish Government has taken a very large gamble and has very likely landed us in the abyss.

Where is all this economic growth they speak of going to come from when we still owe hundreds of billions of euro, which has to be paid back?

I think the Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Finance Minister Michael Noonan must be living in cloud cuckoo land. It is my belief that we will not be better off than before and what the Government is doing amounts to playing Russian roulette.

It is very likely that, in due course, we will have to go for a second bailout and the inevitable then, of course, is that the Government will come back to us all for more taxes. They won't stop until we're all gone.

For sure we have a notoriously demanding task ahead. Maybe we should rely on God's good humour and make every day count.

Sincerely,

John Stack,

Droumcunnig,

Abbeydorney.
