Derry to play a key role in B&B trade
Derry Murphy, who is well known in West Kerry and beyond for his involvement in the GAA and tourism, will be busy promoting bed and breakfasts over the coming tourism season, having recently been appointed company secretary of B&B Ireland.
B&B Ireland is one of the main promoters and facilitators of bed and breakfast accommodation in Ireland and has over 1,000 members throughout the 26 counties. Its membership also extends, in a limited capacity, into Northern Ireland.
Derry, who is currently Runaí of West Kerry GAA and serves as Cultural Committee Representative on the Munster GAA Council is a former member of the Board of Foras na Gaeilge and is a founding member - and current PRO - of Dingle Peninsula Tourism.
Derry says he is looking forward to serving in such as key role as Company Secretary of B&B Ireland in this, the year of The Gathering.
