THIS coming Sunday, February 2, marks World Wetlands Day and to mark the occasion the Tralee Bay Wetland's Centre are offering visitors to the attraction large discounts.

The day marks the anniversary of the adoption of the international conservation Convention on Wetlands in 1971 and since 1997 organisations all over the world have marked the day by holding events aimed at raising public awareness of the environmental importance wetland areas.

On Sunday, weather permitting, Tralee Bay Wetlands Centre will give visitors to the centre on half price guided tours of the Tralee wetlands. The tour includes admission to the interactive exhibition, the viewing tower and a guided nature boat tour of the wetlands habitat.

The centre has also organised a series of themed classes for both primary and post primary schools by Centre Ecologist Dr David McCormick that will run on weekdays until Friday February 7.
