A YOUNG woman had to be hospitalised when glass flew into her eye when a window was smashed in one of two acts of criminal damage in the Ballybunion area on Sunday.
The young woman was taken to Kerry General Hospital following the incident. She had been standing behind a window when it was smashed in late on Sunday night at a chalet in Ballybunion. Glass went into her eye but she was described as uninjured and released from hospital shortly afterwards.
Meanwhile, on the same night a glass bottle was thrown from a passing car at a home in Lisselton and cracked a window pane on the front door. Occupants of the house immediately alerted the gardaí. The incidents were not related.
The Kerryman understands gardaí have spoken to young males in connection with both incidents and that a file is now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions on each matter.
