A NUMBER of kind-hearted West Kerry locals are currently in the process of organising a fundraising night for a local man who lost his home in a fire recently.
Local taxi driver Johnny Logan lost his home in Ballyferriter in a house fire on January 11. Two units from Kerry Fire Service (Dingle and Tralee) worked tirelessly for four hours to bring the blaze under control which saw the roof collapse and a number of pet animals destroyed.
In the aftermath of the blaze a group of locals have come together to host a fundraiser in Paul Geaney's pub on Saturday February 23 to help Mr Logan – who thankfully was not in the house at the time the blaze broke out – to get back on his feet.
"The night is scheduled for February 23 and anyone who wants to help can come on board," DJ Eddie Hutchinson – who is donating his services on the night - told The Kerryman.
"Dingle band Walking On Cars have also come on board with the fundraiser; they will perform a concert set and I will host a disco afterwards."
"We just want to do what we can to help Johnny and hopefully as many people as possible will turn out on the night to lend their support."
