A COUNTY League title, a North Kerry League title and an under-21 North Kerry Championship - Brosna GAA had plenty to celebrate at its annual social in the Devon Inn on Saturday.

The club came out in force for the night in Templeglantine, made extra special by the presence of players who had returned home for Christmas from Australia, America, the UK and even Dubai.

"It was a wonderful night and a great chance to look back at the successes of the year and present a few medals," Brosna GAA Chairman Brendan Lane told TheKerryman.

"We had a fair bit to celebrate with the seniors winning the Division 5 County League and Division 2 of the North Kerry League. Our under-21s won the 2011 North Kerry Championship as well and that victory was marked on the night too," Brendan explained.

Brendan cast a warm eye back over the events of the year in his address, striking a poignant note in paying tribute to the late Paudie Fitzmaurice - who won a County novice and under-21 title with Brosna - who was tragically killed in a road accident outside Castleisland in May.

Brosna native and County Board Development Officer Tim Murphy also spoke at the social; both men helping the club to look forward to 2013 with renewed optimism and determination.

Neilly O'Connor provided the music and the good folks of Brosna danced into the early hours in another wonderful night of community togetherness.
