Sweet-toothed thief raids Ballybunion golf tuckshop

A SWEET toothed thief made off with a haul of confectionery in a break-in to the tuck shop load at Ballybunion Golf Club in the early hours of Sunday.

Workers discovered the crime when they arrived to open on Sunday. The thief or thieves forced open a padlock on the shop and took sweets, a golf jumper and some cash from the till.

They also forced open a token machine stealing €50 worth of tokens from it. Gardaí say the club is at a loss of €600 due to the criminal damage and theft of the items. The burglary happened sometime between 5.30am and 8.30am on Sunday.

Gardaí ask that anyone who might have noticed suspicious activity in the area on the morning to contact them at either Ballybunion or Listowel Garda Stations.
