Students take to stage with impressive show

TRANSITION Year students at Coláiste Ide agus Iosef in Abbeyfeale made the transition from real life to fairytale pantomime hilarity with massive success over the weekend in packed-out performances of Cinderella!

After busily preparing for many weeks, the transition year students' hour finally came on Friday as they took to the school stage in front of their community in one of the biggest dramatic productions the youngsters had ever faced. Two hours later and all were sitting pretty after what was widely-acknowledged as a top class performance. That it was the first musical ever performed at the school made the success even more special - Coláiste Ide agus Iosef started as it means to go on in the world of the dramatic arts.

But this was far from your run-of-the-mill Cinderella as the talented young adults broke fast and loose with dance routines and songs, jazzing them up no end with a contemporary look and sound - including song-and-dance routine Wings by Little Mix.

With door prizes and much else on the night, it was win-win for the entire community as they came in their droves to watch what has already gone down as an historic event for the school.
