A SPECIAL concert featuring some of Munster's finest traditional musical talent will take place in Halla na Feothnaí this Friday night as part of RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta's celebrations marking 40 years on the air.
The evening has been organised by the Baile na nGall studios of RnaG and fear an tí on night is well-known musician and broadcaster Pádraig Ó Sé, Dún Chaoin.
The stellar line- up for the evening features some of the Munster Gaeltacht's best singers and musicians from Kerry, Cork and Waterford.
Corca Dhuibhne will be strongly represented by Breandán Ó Beaglaoich and family, Raidió na Gaeltachta broadcasters Áine Uí Laoithe and Eilín Ní Chearna, Páidí Mhárthain Mac Gearailt, Maidhc Dainín Ó Sé, Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh, Aoife Granville and friends, Tim Dennehy, Eoin Duignan, Éilís Kennedy and Pauline Scanlon.
The Cork contingent features ' The Poc' - Seán Ó Sé, Máire Ní Chéilleachair, Matt Cranitch and Jackie Daly, Conall Ó Gráda, Colm Murphy, Eoiní and Danny Ó Súilleabháin.
Waterford's Irial and Aodán Ó Ceallaigh will sing, as will Anne Mulqueen and her son Ogie Ó Céilleachair.
Well-known broadcaster Mac Dara Mac Donnacha will also be on stage, as will choir Cór na nDéise.
Tickets for the concert are €10 and can be purchased from Raidió na Gaeltachta in Bóthar na Léinsí (contact 066 9155114). They can also be won through competitions hosted on-air.
The concert kicks off at 8pm. It will not be broadcast live but will be recorded for a special Christmas Day broadcast, to be aired at 7.30pm.
