Last year, the board of management at Scoil Muire Gan Smal took the decision to invest heavily in IT. As a result, all the old computers were replaced with brand new laptops.

Deputy principal, Maura Browne, along with Fr. Michael Moynihan and Pat Sheehan from the board of management spent the summer months sourcing the necessary equipment.

On Thursday morning last the refurbished computer room was re-launched by Kerry senior footballer, Killian Young along with former school principal, Sr. Maureen Kane and staff and pupils.

Killian Young also unveiled the Junior Entrepreneur Flag which was awarded to Ms Daly's sixth class earlier in the year. The budding entrepreneurs worked very hard on their 'Bunny Boxes' business plan and then used their profit to provide a fun, musical workshop for all the classes on Wednesday.

"We're delighted with the upgrade of the facilities here and with the launch," said principal, Leona Twiss.

"The school was eager to support the development of IT skills and to encourage entrepreneurship among the pupils. The school is proud to add the Junior Entrepreneur Flag to our nine Discover Science Awards and to our four Green Flags in recent years," said Ms. Twiss.
