PRIDE in your work is one thing often overlooked in today's world but one Kerry nursing home employee is being recognised for hers, as Sheilah Clim, who works in Ashborough Lodge Nursing Home in Milltown, is in the finals of the Nursing Homes Ireland Care Awards 2013.
Sheilah is one of three finalists in the Nursing Home Director of Nursing/Person in Charge category and is receiving huge support ahead of the award ceremony, which takes place in the Citywest Hotel, Dublin on November 7. One of Sheilah's colleges Miriam Harty says that all the residents and staff at Ashborough Lodge are extremely proud of her, "Sheilah's attitude to change and encouragement given to us has helped us all in our journey through life. We are so proud of her achievements over the past number of years and her nomination for this prestigious award."
Hundreds of nominations were received from over 360 nursing homes across the country for the nine award categories that recognise nurses, carers and everyone else involved in a home.
The award that Sheilah has been nominated for was established to celebrate excellence in management and leadership in nursing homes, according to Nursing Homes Ireland.
Tadgh Daly, CEO of NHI, praised Sheilah's work, stating that it was a "magnificent achievement" in getting to the final.
"The nursing home is understandably very proud of her achievement and this pride should extend to the wider community and county," said Tadgh.
